About Me

I'm a senior frontend engineer with 10+ years of experience. I focus on React and Vue 3, and I run FormBeam as my solo project.

How I Got Here

I'm from Wisconsin and have always been into computers. My friends and I would throw together LAN parties on the weekend to game together. Somewhere along the way, building websites became more interesting to me than playing games. What started as a hobby turned into a career I never expected.

From FurnitureDealer.Net, I moved into job search tech at LinkUp, then leveled up at Mortgage Cadence and Channel. Each step taught me something new, but the through-line has always been the same: build interfaces that just work. No one should have to think about how to use something. Now I run FormBeam as my solo project.

I'm in Minnesota now, but my wife and I are heading to Boise - we got married in September 2024 and ready for a new chapter. Wisconsin will always be home, but I've always been someone who likes a fresh start.

What I've Learned Along the Way

The best interfaces are invisible. Always ask: what is the user trying to accomplish and how can I best help them do it?

Accessibility isn't a feature, it's a foundation. Building for everyone from the start means everyone benefits.

The best code is the code you don't have to write. Simple, clear solutions beat clever ones every time.

I'm proud to be self-taught. Getting here without a formal education taught me how to learn - and that lesson has been more valuable than any specific technology.

I'm always open to discussing new projects, technologies, or opportunities.
